KYLER ENGLAND
Listening to any Kyler England song, it’s easy to believe you’re hearing a classic in the making: gorgeous, organic pop music that speaks to your heart like a close friend. She has won numerous songwriting awards including the Unisong, Mid-Atlantic and North Carolina Songwriting Contests, and was named one of Music Connection magazine’s “Hot Unsigned Artists 2007” and “Best Alternative Rock Album” in the Indie Acoustic Project Awards. With a natural instinct for melody and lyrics, she crafts songs that are not only catchy but full of depth. Having studied classical music theory at North Carolina State University, and contemporary-pop and jazz at the renowned Berklee School of Music, England is a self-professed music geek, but her music studies extend far outside the classroom with extensive co-writing experience in Nashville and Los Angeles, where she currently resides, as well as “the road” being her most important teachers. For the past five years she has played over 150 shows a year, including the Toronto Film Festival and Bele Chere Festival, and has opened for such artists as Sting, Annie Lennox, Melissa Etheridge, and Vienna Teng. She’s released five records on her own Gypsy Rock Records and had songs featured on such TV shows as Guiding Light, Rollergirls and Zoey 101. www.kylerengland.com
